We’ve hit 30 weeks! Time is flying by!
Last Friday, March 16th, we went for another ultrasound. The baby was just under 3 lbs which is average for this stage of the pregnancy. The heartbeat was approximately 129. We had no idea it was going to happen, but they did 3D imaging with the ultrasound. The technician was able to find the baby’s face and show us the face in 3D. It was unreal! We really think that the baby has Greg’s lips and we’re not sure but we think the Little One has my nose. Keep in mind that the nose is squished in the ultrasound. It won’t be that big!
So, everything is looking good so far! I’ve been feeling very good lately and have had a fair amount of energy. I’ve gained approximately 26 lbs so far…5 of which were in the past 3 weeks. It’s so strange that gaining weight is a good thing! My belly is protruding enough now that it is difficult to tie my shoes, put on socks, and carry laundry. I can still do all of these things, but it is much more challenging.

I ran on Wednesday night. I ran about 3.4 miles in 30 minutes. That’s a decent pace for me. It’s not fast but it isn’t slow (for me) either. I don’t really care about how far or how fast I ran it though. What I care about right now are my shins. I’m happy to report that my shins did not hurt during the run. When I finished they may have hurt slightly but not enough to matter. To be safe I took some aspirin and iced them.
Tonight I’m going to run about 3.5 again. I really want to do longer runs but I’m pretyt sure my shins will fall apart if I up my mileage too quickly.
I have a very hilly 15k coming up in just slightly over 1 week. I have no goals for that race at all. I’m going to run it as though it wasn’t an organized event…just another run…

I took more than a week off of running in an effort to get rid of my shin splints. I ran 3.55 miles this past Friday at a pace just above “slow.” It felt good. I didn’t have any shin pain but there was a spot on each shin that felt “different.” The “different” spots are were I get the most intense pain when my shins are really hurting. I’m going to try to slowly ramp up my distance until I can handle long distances with no shin pain. That’s the plan…

I hate American Express. They sent me an application for a Blue card with an offer for $50 for signing up. All you had to do was sign up and use the card at least once in the first three months of owning the card. I signed up and made a purchase and waited for the points to show on my account. They never showed.
When I called to cancel they said the points would be credited in the next three weeks. Three weeks came and went and the points never arrived. I believe the customer service rep lied to me just to keep the account open. I will be canceling the account and I will never sign up for anything American Express sends me ever again.

For quite some time I’ve bought almost all of my computer hardware via newegg.com. They have a great reputation for customer service and they have very reasonable prices. For the first time I had an experience with newegg that wasn’t perfect.
I ordered three items. I received 3 emails notifying me that the orders were being processed. I received another set of 3 emails telling me that my credit card had been charged. Later in the week one of the items arrived. For an unrelated reason I checked the “un billed activity” on my credit card. I noticed a credit from newegg. That didn’t make sense to me so I visited newegg.com.
I found that newegg had “voided” (canceled) one of my order but they never notified me. After emailing customer service they informed me that what I had ordered was out of stock and they do not keep orders on back order. The item was in stock when I placed the order, at least according to their website, but I guess it wasn’t in stock at their warehouse. For my trouble newegg offered me a partial credit for my recent purchases or for a future purchase. I elected to have the credit immediately.
As I said this was less than perfect but it was still completely acceptable to me. I will still buy from newegg. I wish that newegg would notify customers when something happens to their order. I also wish that they didn’t charge shipping for each item (that seems shady to me). I also wish orders were shipped together. I suspect that newegg operates this way to save money by having different items in different warehouses. It’s annoying but not a deal breaker.

Dear Shins,
I don’t know what I’ve done to you to deserve how you’ve been treating me for so many months. I’m tired of your behavior. I wish you would just tell me what’s wrong. I’m not a shin reader. I exercise you and your buddy My Calves. I put a compression sleeve on you to keep you warm. I ice you. I drug you with aspirin and ibuprofen. I feed you nutritious meals. I have even given you vacations. All you give me is pain.
I wish you’d just tell me what is wrong but you insist on behaving like a new born baby. All you do is cry and scream that you want something but you won’t come out and say what.
Today I took you for a 3 mile run. I was worried about you so I took it slow. After 28 minutes I had to turn around and go home early because of your behavior. I hope you’re proud.
