One tough run
June 25th, 2006 by greg
This past Wednesday I set out at about 6pm to run the Rowe Half. It was nearly 80 and sunny. I hadn’t had a long run in quite some time because I hadn’t been feeling well. I thought I was OK to go even though I hadn’t gotten enough sleep the night before. I was wrong. It was a very difficult run. I knew pretty early on that I wasn’t going to be able to make the full 13 mile distance. I was happy to finally be out running again but my stomach was upset and I had a headache. I stopped after 6.5 miles where my fan club was waiting for me. My fans (my Mom and Dad) had water and candy ready for me. We walked together for 0.6 miles after I finished the 6.5 and then they drove me home. I ran the Rowe Quarter in 1:03:27. I was really happy with my time but disappointed that I wasn’t 100% healthy yet.
